OHIO STATE APPRENTICESHIP COUNCIL (OSAC) MEETING was held right here at the Sheet Metal Workers For A Second Time today, Glad to have OSAC at the Sheet Metal Workers!
Over 30 applicants interviewed today, many will be in this years classes.
These pictures are when we are getting ready and just about to start. This was a successful job fair and we stayed busy the entire time talking to possible applicants. Lots of people and lots of interest, I sure hope to see some of these faces at the Sheet Metal office to become registered apprentices.
A big thank you to Vanessa form Turner construction for putting this event together. It's really exciting to recognize these young people for choosing to learn a skilled trade.

We stopped by to Limbach's shop today for a signing day commitment to work for Limbach through the CSMWA Pre-Apprenticeship. Natalie took a few minutes to show us her welding skills that she has been learning from our partners at Eastland Career Center.

Vanessa Jester from Turner Construction (Facebook Job) came to the office today to help plan a Building Trades signing day. We have worked with Vanessa for years, she is always a good partner.

A great group of people were interviewed today, I think we should be able to bring in many of them as 1st year Sheet Metal Apprentices.
Thanks to our SMANCA partners for donations so we could raffle off a gift card. Congratulations to Sharonda Lucas, our big winner! It was great talking to thousands of students at the informational table, we hope everyone enjoyed the VR welder and VR lift.
Brian Huston held the welding program advisory meeting tonight. What a great a diverse group of people that volunteer there time to help insure Mr. Huston's program is top notch. Brian shared that his student Stephanie Kane won the State Skills USA welding sculpture contest and showed us the sculpture. Next step for Stephanie is Skills USA national contest, Good Luck!
Columbus Sheet Metal Workers Apprenticeship JATC Trustees earn the highest accreditation level “Platinum” from the International Training Institute!
International Training Institute (iTi) Field Representative Len Leibert Presents the Platinum Level Plaque to CSMWA-JATC Trustees Yesterday.
The Ohio Valley Coordinators Group consist of 8 apprenticeship programs in Ohio. The Coordinator from each program spends 2 days in Columbus helping run several contest. Eugene Frazier, Dan Kline, Cort Wayman, Clint Dockery, Wes Smith, Al Simonitis and Rob Gartner are the Training Coordinators planning and doing set up. Len Liebert from the International Training Institute (iTi) is in town helping to plan and coordinate events as well. We completely run the Sheet Metal and Welding Sculpture contest and we help with Welding and Welding Fabrication contest. This year the iTi brought their "VR" Lift, and numerous people had a chance to see what it is like to be in a lift on a job site through "VR". We can't wait until the awards today to see who wins the prizes and who is going to Nationals!
Around 30 Union Sheet Metal Workers came out to volunteer and help pass on the trade, Thank You Everyone!
